What is Good Friday?

Good Friday is the day to commemorate Jesus Christ's crucifixion. It is observed during Holy Week on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday. It is also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, Black Friday or Easter Friday. So why is this referred to as 'Good'?! Some sources say it is because 'good' can also mean holy or it has been corrupted from 'God's Friday.'

How can I celebrate Good Friday?

Celebrate with a lunch of fish while remembering the sacrifice Jesus made on this day.

Is Good Friday a national holiday?

In many countries it is not, however in countries such as the United Kingdom it is a national holiday. In the US it is not a federal holiday however across some states it is a state holiday.
