When is Father's Day?

Father's Day will be on Sunday 17 June 2018. Many countries celebrate Father's Day on different dates however the premise is the same, love thy father and shower him with presents!

What is Father's Day?

The original Father's Day begun in the US at the Williams Memorial Methodist Church in West Virginia in 1908 when Mrs Clayton asked her paster to have a service to remember over 200 fathers that died in an mining explosion the previous year. It wasn't until 1972 that President Nixon signed a law declaring it to be celebrated on the third Sunday in June each year.

How do people celebrate Father's Day?

Father's Day is a day to take a moment to appreciate your Dad or father-figure while celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Many people send cards or give gifts to their Dads and many are happy with a simple phone call!
